Ingredients:

  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 cup crumbled Gorgonzola or blue cheese
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 (6-inch) soft French baguette, split horizontally
  • 1 sprig fresh thyme or pinch dried thyme leaves
  • 3 slices Hormel® Natural Choice® Deli Roast Beef

Directions:

  1. To make Gorgonzola Sauce, in small saucepan, cook cream and garlic 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese, mayonnaise, parsley and Worcestershire sauce.
  2. In small skillet, sauté onion in oil 5 minutes or until very soft. Add vinegar; cook 2 to 3 minutes longer.
  3. Spread caramelized onion on bottom half of French bread. Top with thyme, roast beef and Gorgonzola Sauce. Cover with top half of French bread.

Notes:


  1. One-half cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese or blue cheese can be used instead of the Gorgonzola Sauce.
