Easy Muffuletta Sandwich
This famous sandwich originated at the Central Grocery in New Orleans in 1906. Nearly 100 years later, the Central is still serving the Muffuletta, and customers wait in long lines to be served. We save you the trip to New Orleans and the wait in line with our simplified version of this classic.
1 pkg. (9 oz.) HORMEL® NATURAL CHOICE® Honey Deli Ham
1 c. bottled vinaigrette
1 c. green olives stuffed with pimientos, chopped
1/2 c. PELOPONNESE® Roasted Sweet Red Peppers, chopped
3 cloves garlic, crushed
3 T. fresh Italian flat-leaf parsley, chopped
1 large round loaf of Italian bread
1 pkg. DI LUSSO® Genoa Salami
1/2 lb. sliced provolone cheese
Mix together vinaigrette, green olives, red peppers, garlic, and parsley. Set aside. Slice loaf in half horizontally. Slightly scoop out insides to make room for filling. Spread half of the vinaigrette/olive mixture on bottom half of loaf. Alternate layers of salami, cheese, and ham. Top with remaining vinaigrette/olive mixture. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to several hours. Unwrap, cut into quarters, and serve.
