The Hormel Family Heritage
More than a century ago, George A. Hormel dedicated himself to a life of innovation and hard work. After establishing Geo. A Hormel & Company in Austin, Minn., he instilled in his workers those same principles.
In 1929 the founder's son, Jay C. Hormel, took over the company as president. He brought to the company "a penchant for daring new products and dazzling promotions," such as guaranteeing an annual wage for the meatpacking industry.
While the labels on our products and the shape of our jars may have changed, our original values have not. Integrity, an uninterrupted quest for quality and innovation, a respect for each other and a commitment to community live on today, stronger than ever.
